Welcome
By choosing to come to Ambleteuse, you give yourself the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of the beach (the largest and most beautiful - play park ever!), to go hiking or cycling, or to play golf, practicable between Ambleteuse and Wimereux and many other things;
You will discover a magnificent region, with its groves, its beaches, its "notches", its dunes ... The sea wind allows you to practice many sailing and sliding activities. As for the sun, you will see, it is often there !!
The Beach
Ambleteuse beach alternates between areas of pebbles, sand and rocks, which will lead you to choose your bathing times more readily at a time when the sea, withdrawing, will have cleared the sandy areas (and you can then swim comfortably on a sandy beach!). The beach is supervised all summer
Sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kite-surfing, sea kayaking, coasters are activities that you can practice on this beach, apart from swimming and sunbathing of course.
But who says rocks, also says crustaceans, and you or your children will be able to spend superb moments picking mussels, looking for crabs, fishing for shrimps at low tide, in puddles or in the sea. The famous "Fort Mahon" or fort Vauban literally stamps this seafront. The fort can be visited
Behind the fort, the Slack river draws its meanders. If you cross it, either fording or at the Wimereux-Ambleteuse road bridge, you reach the beach of Pointe aux Oies, a popular spot for kite-surfing and windsurfing.

The Hikes
The entire region of the Opal Coast is crisscrossed by a vast network of hiking trails for walkers or cyclists (mountain biking or cycle touring). These numerous hiking trails, including the GR120, link Ambleteuse to Wimereux, to Cap Gris-Nez, to Cap Blanc-Nez.
Starting from Ambleteuse, you can choose between the paths around Boulogne or those of the capes and opal marshes. The site marked with an icon will allow you to download these hiking routes.

The Golf (18 holes - 6150m - Par 72)
Come and discover the famous Wimereux golf course, fabulously located in the middle of the dunes, the course has a breathtaking view of the English Channel.
"Created in 1901, the Golf de Wimereux was rebuilt by two British architects, Campbell and Hutchinson, after the First World War. It had brilliant international encounters, and all players considered this course to be equal to the best "seaside" links across the Channel.
The golf course is a Scottish links seafront which has retained its wild character. Its hilly course, with wide fairways and excellent quality greens, satisfies the most demanding golfers. 25 km from Calais and a few km from the A16 motorway, the route stretches between the sea, the Boulogne countryside and the dunes of Ambleteuse. Depending on the hole, one discovers a picturesque landscape, the Channel traffic and the white British cliffs. "

The Neighboring Towns
On the official Tourism website of Nord Pas de Calais/Hauts de France, you will find a wealth of information. Visit the Greeters website to discover the region in the company of enthusiasts.
Wimereux, currently booming seaside resort. Its seaside villas bear witness to the craze for sea bathing at the start of the 20th century. Its shops, restaurants and the many sporting activities on offer justify a visit to the tourist office.
Audresselles, is a charming village, with its single-storey fishermen's houses, its friendly place, its many restaurants where you will be served platters of wonderful seafood! At low tide, you can leave Ambleteuse to reach Audresselles by the beach.
Wissant, combines the charm of a fishing village and that of a seaside resort.
Boulogne sur mer, with its upper town remarkable for its castle, its cathedral (and its extraordinary crypt), its ramparts which surround it on all sides, its cobbled streets and its small squares.
In lower town, linger on the fishing port, with its huts of fish and shellfish merchants - fresh from the tide - a feast for the eyes and for the plates (it is often even better in the early morning around 8 o'clock because the choice of fish is wider).
And of course Nausicaa will deserve a day, or even two (the ticket is barely more expensive for two consecutive days - which makes it possible to distribute the visit).
Calais is not far either, with its city of lace, its dragon (the Nantes machine company), its seaside chalets, its ferries to England, or the Channel Tunnel.
Of course this list could be largely continued !! I entrust you with two more favorites: the beach of Strouanne at the bottom of the Blanc Nez cliffs and the magnificent views during the hikes around Audembert where, as Victor Hugo said:
The trip from Calais to Boulogne is a delightful walk. The road runs through the most beautiful landscapes in the world. The hills and valleys swell and sink in magnificent undulations. On the heights there are immense spectacles. As far as the eye can see, floors of fields and meadows stitched together; great red plains, great green plains, steeples, villages, woods which present their great dark trapezoids in a hundred ways, and always, at the bottom, to the west, a beautiful distance of hills that the sea fills like a vase ... We go up, and we find the sky, the earth, the sea, the infinite. Really, I am amazed, every day at all the wonders that God does with green and blue.
